Basic Computer Course


COURSE DESCRIPTION

Overview of basic computer concepts, computer hardware, software including mobile devices, applications, information system and internet browsing as applicable to day to day work environment. Providing training application of Microsoft office packages.


OBJECTIVES

By the end of the course students must be able to:

  • Introduce software engineering testing process and provide examples.
  • Use the basic vocabulary and terminology related to computer and word processing
  • Open, save and format a basic document
  • Type a simple note or a letter using Microsoft Word
  • Perform basic format and editing on a word document
  • Create tables and calendars
  • Use different basic computer language software and programs to practice English skills and typing skills
  • With assistance, navigate websites to access information and evaluate information
  • Build confidence and skills in using computer technology.

SYLLABUS

  • Understanding basic computer terminology
  • Understanding the major components of a windows operating system features
  • Microsoft word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Introduction to Paint.
  • Basic Concept on Internet Browsing. Explain how internet works.
  • Browsing internet on different browsers. I.e. internet explorer, Google chrome, safari etc.
  • How to handle a Smart Phone.
